Riverside & San Deigo CCW Step-by-Step Process
CCW Considerations
The CCW permit is only valid for 2 years from the date of issuance.
Must have a valid & current Real CA ID (Golden bear in upper right corner)
Must have a registered handgun serialized to each individual applicant (cannot share)
So long as you meet these steps, along with CA's remaining requirements, you may begin to move on to step 1, the CCW application.
Reasons for carrying can be general, and do not need to be specific. Only emphasize key statements like "I do not want to be a victim of a violent crime," is important to express sentiment and must be stated.
Do not state that you want to carry for work purposes unless your employer is willing to sign an approval.
County Application Fees
For Riverside County, the initial application process is $115 to begin. Upon completion of the CCW process there will be an additional $80 issuance fee.For San Diego County, the initial application fee is $105.63 to begin. Upon completion of the CCW process there will be an additional $50.51 issuance fee.+ Live Scan Fees
